I have managed centres for people living with dementia symptoms, I managed services for the Alzheimers society and worked closely with palliative care and continuing care support services. Within these services, I initiated the need for care support plans to change , to improve support to people being cared for and their carers. I devolped the care plans for local Authority Services that provided palliative care funding and support, making them more person centred and inclusive. Care is personal and very unique to each person, I am mindful and very supportive of choice in the way people wish to be supported. I moved to West sussex from London 9 years ago where I changed my career as Registered Manager and began part time work with Alzheimers society, then on to various private care. My change came as I decided to pursue my hobbies of craft and teaching mindfulness and meditation into a part time business. I have remained supporting people with care needs,as this is set in my heart and is something I care very much for. I enjoy cooking, gardening, walks along the downs, swimming, fitness ,reading and have a wide range of music interests .  BN15 8SQ 94922 I have worked in care for 7 years. I have been employed by the best and most prestigious care home in Worthing, which was rated by CQC as outstanding across all 5 categories. I was employed as a Care Companion and also an Activities Coordinator. I have experience with early dementia, Parkinson’s disease, mobility, hearing and sight loss. I like to treat all my clients as if they are my family and very easily form great relationships with them. I have experience of attending appointments with clients, shopping trips, going out for cultural events and afternoon tea. I have a large grown up family of 2 boys and 2 girls and also 4 grandchildren. I have 2 dogs and a cat. I love living by the sea although I don’t really swim in it. I love a quiz or a crossword. I love to read, knit and sew. I also have a huge interest in fashion and film. I live in Sompting and love to walk on the beach or in Brooklands Park. I am fully vaccinated against Covid and do regular LFD testing. I am passionate about everything that I do and people all say I am fun to be with.
