I completed companionship visits, including personal care duties, end of life care including catheter and using hoist equipment. The medical conditions have included stroke, cancer, Parkinson’s disease, heart conditions, Alzheimer’s and vascular dementia. I have also cared for my own Mum who has recently recovered from breast cancer. More recently I have looked after an elderly gentleman with Alzheimer's as a waking night, and also as a live in carer for a lady who was recovering from a stroke. We worked together to promote her independence and I assisted when required. Her health has improved greatly over several weeks. Both jobs were on a self-employed basis. I work closely with the physio and Occupational Therapists. I include the daily exercises to strengthen muscle groups and balance to aid mobility and independence. I offer hourly companionship/care/chaperone duties and also respite care in the school holidays. I consider live in however I do have a dog and prefer to bring him with me if at all possible. I am double vaccinated and also had the booster.
