I’m a food junkie and love to explore different restaurants to experience a variety of cuisines. I love to be active so whenever the weather is nice I try to go walking in the countryside with my dog, Milo (safe to say I sometimes enjoy it more than he does). A few of years ago, right out of the blue, my caring, strong, hard working, older mother was diagnosed with dementia. I mention it here because I understand and empathise how difficult it is to see a loved one becoming so vulnerable and confused with her life. I was already working in care, but mainly with younger people with higher support needs. My mum's experience made me look again at caring for older client's, and just how rewarding that can be. I have 7 years experience within the care sector. This is how I would sum up my job. I love caring and being with people and adjusting to people’s needs. My experience started out as a live-in carer for a spinal injury care company. I also worked for a care agency, where I cared for a girl with disabilities, there was always 2 carers in this role and we took her to school, administered medication and checked blood and ketone levels. Within this agency, I covered many different care homes and agencies across Bristol. I also supported 2 ladies privately, both had a spinal injury, where I supported with personal care, using a catheter, cooking and a lot of driving. I like driving and I am a very careful driver, I can drive an automatic and a manual car. My preference is home care as I love seeing people so relaxed in their own home. I am also a complementary therapist, so naturally, I am a gentle caring person. I love working with all ages, but particularly fond of the elderly. I used to go into a few care homes in Bristol and offer mini treatments, this is at a dementia home and one of my friends who is like a grandma had dementia. I am a fantastic listener too! I am now back living in Dorset and looking forward to caring for people that need support in this area. Weekend work is no problem as I prefer weekends, am able to carry out overnight live in for Saturdays til Monday morning if needed, but I have no live in availability throughout the week.  BS40 5AP 162070 Hello I'm Stephanie. I am 37 and i have 18 years experience in care. I have a great understand of dementia and have worked a lot with this. I have worked in the assessment unit in the local hospital. I have worked with family's coming to terms with the diagnosis and helped them with how to deliver care at home and how to deal with complex situations. i have a lot of experience with elderly care and have also worked with young adults with LD and complex autoimmune diseases. I have all mandatory training and a full enhanced DBS. I can help with managing things such as doctors, medication hospital appointments.I am available for mornings, mornings and evenings to help with all needs from personal care or domestic I have worked in care for 18 year doing several different roles from care to management. While doing all of these role I have ultimately loved each one as I have been able to help my clients live life to the best of their ability. We have gone out to the gym, been on walks or just to go shopping. And each time the clients have been grateful for the chance to do so. While I have a family and work my main hobby to either going to the gym or speaking time with my family. I have children and they absolutely amazing.  EX14 1XG 15907 I have been a caregiver for seven years, five and half years working in community care helping people with early and intermediate stage dementia. I have also worked in a residential care home for for two years which has given me experience in more advanced dementia as well. I work only with the elderly and love giving them companionship, taking them out and making their lonely days more enjoyable. I help with all the basic light household duties and personal care where necessary, I have a carer certificate and L2 & L3 equivalent to NVQ’s in Dementia care. Dementia is a devastating diagnosis for any family to receive and I specialise in this area. I am happy to do respite for a few hours in a day if family carer needs a respite so they can have that much needed break to relax or go shopping. I am happy to work with pets in the household and travel within a radius of about 10 miles. I am also fully computer literate if needed. Non smoker to work in smoke free homes only and no evenings or nights.
