I have also worked as a Lone Worker covering night duties for over ten years . Providing a person centred approach supporting & caring, meeting private residents individual care & medical needs/care plan, personal care, toileting, administering medication, stoma and catheter care, preparing meals, cooking, household daily chores, social interaction, medical appointments, knowledge and hands on experience of how to care and treat pressure sores, palliative care turning, oral care, End of Life care, within their own homes. Whilst liaising with doctors, Marie Curie Nurses, district nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, supporting residents with their physio exercise plans in their own homes/gym. Worked with and supported paramedics medically whilst on duty. awaiting updated catheter and stoma care certificates. I have hands on experience of stoma care due to previously having an ileostomy myself. Due to having endured major bowel surgery and later I had a reversal. For the past ten months I have also worked as a Self Employed Carer within the local community & their families. Providing 24 hrs live in care and hourly care to private clients within their own homes. meeting their individual care needs including- Personal care, including catheter and stoma care, administering medication, toileting & use of commode. Meal preparation, cooking freshly made meals including Mediterranean cuisine discussing meal plans and following specific dietary needs, household chores, social interaction, medical appointments, PA duties. Over the years I have cared for people who have suffered strokes, Dementia, Alzheimer's, brain injuries, limited mobility, MND, Aphasia, hard of hearing, loss of sight, mental health, Parkinson disease, Paralysis, OCD traits, Special Educational Needs including - Non Verbal, ADHD, ASD, Cerebral Palsy, PANDAS, Challenging Behaviour, Genetic disorders, Sensory impairment. I am a kind, caring, patient, good listener, empathetic, hard working mum. Being a Carer is such a rewarding job in so many ways. Being able to support their independence and care for others whilst making a significant difference in their life. One of my proudest moments happened back in 2016 when I was nominated for my continued care and support towards children with ASD and their families. At 'The Borough's Thankyou Award Ceremony' for the Borough of North Yorkshire. Where I was awarded an award for 'Carer/Helper / Runner up' I was so honoured and proud of my on going care & support which I had given to others within the community. I have cared , taught and supported children overseas in Spain & have lived, worked in Italy also. I speak fluent Spanish & Italian I know some Portuguese too. Currently I am learning Greek. I am a very cultured person and enjoy learning about different people, cultures and other languages. I enjoy going to the theatre, live concerts, cinema, meeting friends and family, cooking, Italian & Spanish, Mediterranean dishes. I enjoy fashion, ice skating, going to the gym, walking, listening to music, especially Spanish, Latin and Italian Song Artists including Pablo Alboran, Malu, Rosalia, Andrea Bocelli, Eros Ramazzotti, Pino Daniele, Anna Tatangelo to name just a few. I love the art of Flamenco . I enjoy fine dining & travel. My passion is creating, planning events within the community as an Event Planner with my daughter. During COVID I9 I saw whilst working myself as a Carer within the Health & Social Care. The impact it had made to peoples mental health and their well being, self esteem. As they could not see in person their loved ones or give them a hug which meant so much to them. I decided to bring people back together socially within the local community where I worked after the COVID 19 PANADEMIC by creating and planning different themed and cultural, entertainment events. Which helped them with their anxiety and boosted their self esteem whilst socialising and engaging with others. Rachel did a fantastic job taking care of my father once he was discharged from a lengthy stay in hospital. She helped him set his physio/exercise routine and his diet, while also doing lots of tasks around the house that he could not yet manage. Would highly recommend.
